Prepare your design at the size you want it printed. Decide whether you are ordering a repeating pattern by the metre or a panel — a single composition with specific dimensions.

What should you check before uploading?

  • Dimensions in centimetres. For a panel, check the size of the entire graphic; for a repeating pattern, check the size of the repeat tile and motifs.
  • Image quality. Assess it at the final print size. A small image may look good on screen but show pixels or blur when enlarged. Simply changing the setting to “300 DPI” will not add detail.
  • Colours. Prepare your file in RGB. Do not convert it to an arbitrary CMYK or printer profile.
  • Layout. Check orientation, cropping and scale. For a repeating pattern, view several copies side by side to spot gaps and misaligned edges.

How should you save your design?

Keep the source file. For printing, save your design as a JPG at maximum quality of 100% and a resolution of 150 DPI at the final print size. Avoid screenshots — changing the DPI value alone will not improve an image that is too small.

Before confirming your order

After uploading, check the preview and the selected pattern size in the configurator. Make sure your design fits within the print width of your chosen fabric.

If colour or fine detail is particularly important, order a 46 × 46 cm sample on your chosen fabric before a larger print run.

How do you prepare a repeating pattern?

A repeating pattern lets you cover fabric with a continuous design. Its building block is the repeat tile, a section of artwork whose copies form the full pattern. A tile can be square or rectangular and contain one motif or several elements.

How do you prepare a panel for printing?

A panel is a graphic with specific dimensions, such as an illustration for a cushion, bag or the front of a garment. Unlike a continuous pattern, its edges do not need to match those of the neighbouring copy.
